What’s In The Box With Your Dog Car Temperature Monitor?
If you’re considering pre-ordering the PuppComm dog car temperature monitor, you’re probably wondering what will come with it. We’ve tried to keep everything as simple as possible, so there won’t be much in the box beside what’s needed. Let’s take a look at what’s inside.
PuppComm Dog Monitoring System
First and foremost is the PuppComm itself. The PuppComm is primarily a dog car temperature monitor. All you have to do is link it to the app (we’ll talk more about that below) and you’ll be able to keep track of the temperature in your car so that you can address the situation as the temperature rises. You’ll also be getting alerts from the phone in case you get distracted and lose track of time.
But this piece of pet tech is much more than just a dog heat alarm. It’s also going to keep track of the humidity in the car, because humidity can be just as dangerous as the actual temperature. You can program this pet tech to alert you when either the humidity or temperature gets too high.
Since the PuppComm is primarily designed to be used in a car, we’ll be sending a car charging cable along. That way you’ll always have it in the car and be able to have this pet technology charged up by the time you get wherever you’re going. It’s a standard USB cable, so you’ll also be able to charge it off of a computer or wall charger with a USB/AC adapter. The PuppComm also comes with a built-in rechargeable battery.
The app is the virtual heart of our dog monitoring system. This free dog monitoring app, when paired with the PuppComm, allows you to check the temperature and humidity of the vehicle at any time. You can even change the alerts based on the type of dog you have; cold weather huskies are going to respond to heat differently than a dog whose ancestors came from the equator.
That’s not all, though. The app is also going to tell you how long you’ve left the dog in the car, because even if you’re under a tree and the temperature remains constant, you’re not going to want to leave your dog in the car for very long. It’s also going to let you know what the cell strength is between the cell phone and the PuppComm; if you get too far out of range you’ll know that you’ve lost contact and change your plans accordingly. You’ll also be given an indication of battery power on the PuppComm itself, though its battery will last longer than you will want to leave your dog in the car alone.
Finally, our dog monitoring system also comes with a microphone. This way you can hear your dog and find out if they are overly annoyed or distressed. If you hear tearing car upholstery, head back to your car right away!
When people hear about everything our dog car temperature monitor does and the information the app can give, they’re pretty impressed. But then they think they’ve got us and say “Ha ha!” (in a very 1930’s Three Musketeers movie tone). “But what about people who see the dog in the car and smash the windows in order to save the animal from the heat?”
The good news is that we’ve already considered that situation and dealt with it. We include large windows stickers that let passersby know that the dog in the vehicle is being actively monitored. There’s also an individualized number so that they can text and learn the exact temperature of the vehicle so that they can be reassured and walk away without engaging in some smashy-smashy.
